This is the specialist machine for long runs of tape rings and other short cores. To facilities rapid setting a single mandrel is used. Tooling for each size comprises the mandrel and tube loading/stripping plates. The operator simply loads long cores into the tube guides, the tube is automatically loaded, cut and the cut pieces ejected by conveyor. The mandrel can be plastic or hardened steel. The knives are mounted on a driven shaft and can be moved along the mandrel to avoid cutting too deeply in plastic mandrels. A strong hopper can be added to give truly automatic production.
